Repurposed vintage sewing machine drawers are finding their way into the hearts of many home decorators these days, including mine! They come in a variety of different colors, styles, and shapes and can be used in so many creative ways to add personal touches in your home decor. From home office, bathrooms, kitchen, and even into seasonal crafting projects – there’s a place for them to be cherished in almost any part of your home.
This past week, I launched a new Facebook Live Series all about fall decorating *and crafting* with vintage finds! I will link the available episodes below for you to watch. If you’re interested in more decorating ideas, inspiration, and how-to videos – be sure to follow My Sweet Home!

Small Space Organization
Using sewing machine drawers as storage in small spaces, like this idea from Prodigal Pieces, is super clever! These repurposed drawers are hung with rustic pallet wood pieces and are perfect for organizing towels, rags, jars for cotton balls, etc.!
Make them decorative & functional in any space!

Creamy Dreamy Drawer Vignette
This creamy dreamy creation from Katie's Rose Cottage will win your heart. A vintage sewing machine drawer that has been shabbied to perfection. Could it be more perfect?

Display Collectibles
Add four mini bun feet, knobs, or finials to the bottom corners of sewing machine drawers to create and elevate the perfect place to proudly display a vintage set of collectibles, like these antique graters and kitchen tools.
I found several options for knobs and finials on Amazon that will work perfect for a project just like this. Shop my recommendations at my referral link HERE.

Plate Display & Storage
Add treasured glassware, dinnerware, etc. to a freshly painted sewing machine drawer for a charming addition to display in your home decor, like this piece from Brenda at the Cozy Little House blog.

Crafting & Sewing Storage
It only makes sense that we attempt to use these vintage sewing machine drawers in a way that relates to their original purpose, right?! Why not use them to store and organize your crafting and sewing supplies? … like frilly laces, ribbons, fabric squares, fabric rolls, etc. I absolutely LOVE this example from Faith Grace Crafts… and just wait until you see her entire craft room makeover HERE! It's so dreamy!

Shadow Box Displays
Dressed up the "backgound" with a few vintage yardsticks and display a few treasured family heirloom items and you will have yourself a couple of super sweet and sentimental shadow box displays. I love these created by the Thistle Thicket Studio!

Cutting Board Storage
These drawers are small enough to be the perfect addition to store items on your kitchen counter tops… just like Jennifer Allwood did in this kitchen reno project.

Home Office Organization
Mounted directly to the wall in a home office, they become great organization areas for sorting mail, receipts, etc.

Gallery Wall Display
Sewing machine drawers can make perfect little "shadow boxes" to display small items – of a larger collection – that can be used on a gallery wall display. Think kitchen themed collections, sewing collections, family heirloom pieces, primitive decor, or even a collection of children books, toys, etc.
These boxes actually remind me of some of the frames I have seen before. I like the mix of these with the look of traditional artwork from Homekor.
